The East End Master Plan is a real estate development plan that shows where new housing, and businesses can be added that will meet the needs of the area, create jobs, and increase economic opportunities.
We envision the New East Side being a diverse community of students, young professionals, and long-time residents sharing space in a safe location.
Real Estate Development
The S.G. Atkins CDC is revitalizing the housing stock within its target area by building new homes for first time homebuyers. Since 2001, the CDC has leveraged resources from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City of Winston-Salem to build thirty-four single family homes and to rehabilitate single family homes. Down payment assistance is available to qualified applicants who wish to purchase homes within the CDC’s target area.
Buy Back The Block
The CDC works with the Center for Homeownership who provides workshops and assistance to helping families turn the homeownership dream into reality. Family members receive home buyer education and counseling to acquire the knowledge and confidence needed to navigate the home buying process and become successful homeowners.
